Turkmen-Japanese forum «Bright future of the reliable partnership» -Av.Dr.Döwran Orazgylyjow

Within the framework of the official visit to Japan, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the Turkmen-Japanese forum “Bright future of the reliable partnership”.
Over 300 participants and guests took part in the forum.
Speaking during the forum, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the important aspects of the internal and foreign policy pursued in Turkmenistan and noted that today’s policy could be called the policy of the modernization of the country.
Focusing on the issues of the national economy development, the President of Turkmenistan briefed the forum participants on its key indexes. In particular, it was mentioned that summing up the year of 2012, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Japan increased as much as nine times as compare to the previous year. Japan occupies the ninth place in the total volume of import and the 47th place in the total volume of export of Turkmenistan. 26 projects with participation of Japanese companies amounted to over 781 million US dollars and 91 billion yens have been registered in turkmenistan as of June 1, 2013.
The export-oriented textile industry of Turkmenistan was specified among the key areas for widening cooperation between the two countries.
The Turkmen leader also briefed the forum participants on the progress in development of the private sector of the national economy.
Speaking about the system of education, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that in the near future the Turkmen students would have an opportunity to study in Japan and Japanese students – in the institutions of higher education in Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen leader also focused on the reforms in the national healthcare system. In this regard the President specified the export of medical equipment and medical services as very prospective areas of the bilateral relations.
The Turkmen leader also underlined the good prospects of the bilateral partnership in the sphere of sports and tourism.
Other forum participants expressed the interest of Japanese partners in cooperation with Turkmenistan.
The ceremony of signing bilateral agreements took place within the framework of the forum.
